What is an OTServ and how to join an OT server

IdleServList Team · reviewed on 2026-10-11

OTServ — or OT server — is an independent Tibia server, created by the community based on the Open Tibia project. Each server has its own rules, map, and rates, and many feature auto hunt: these are the idle OT servers.

How an OT server works

OT servers use community-made server programs and mimic how Tibia works, but each owner sets the rules: faster experience rates, custom maps, new systems, and, on idle servers, auto hunt. They have no connection to official Tibia.

How to join an OT server

  1. Download the client indicated on the server's website — many have their own ready-to-use client.
  2. Create an account on the server's website.
  3. Connect: the client comes pre-configured, or you use a program like Tibia Loader with the server's IP and port (the default port is 7171).

On IdleServList, each OT server page displays the IP with a copy button and the online players fetched directly from the server.

Frequently asked questions

Is playing on an OTServ illegal?

Playing is not a crime. OT servers are independent projects with no connection to official Tibia; check the rules and reputation of each server.

Can I use my official Tibia account on an OT?

No. Each OT server has its own accounts, created on its website. Never use the same password as your official Tibia account.
