How to rank your idle game
IdleServList is 100% automatic: nobody pays to rank higher. Your game climbs when the real numbers climb. This guide shows exactly what the bot measures — and what to do to rank well.
1. Get listed
Paste the official site on Suggest a game. The bot visits the page, confirms with AI that it's an online idle game, writes the description and publishes it — usually within minutes. Requirements:
- Your own domain (sites on
*.vercel.app,*.github.io,*.pages.devetc. are not accepted). - The game's official site online, with a
<title>, meta description and anog:image(ideally 1260×500). - It must be an idle game (apps, multi-account browsers and tools are not listed).
2. Understand the Score (0 to 10)
Fixed scale, the same for every game, recalculated every hour:
3. Show your online players
It's what makes your game stand out the most. Expose a public endpoint (no login) with the current count:
GET https://yourgame.com/api/status
{"online": 123}
We also accept players_online, playersOnline or online_players, and paths like /api/online or /status.json. OT servers (Tibia/PokeTibia) are read straight from the status protocol — just show the server IP:port on your site or on otservlist.
Numbers are checked automatically: variation through the day, share of total accounts and comparison with Discord. The ranking uses the 7-day median, so spikes don't help. Inconsistent counts show as unverified and don't count until reviewed. Send the real number and everybody wins.
4. Discord community
- Put the invite link (
discord.gg/…) on your home page — preferably an invite that never expires. - Enable the server widget (Server Settings → Widget). That way we show who's online even if the invite changes.
5. Stability and votes
- The bot visits your home page every ~10 minutes. Aggressive anti-bot protection (Cloudflare "Under Attack") can make the game look offline — prefer normal mode.
- Ask your community for votes and add the status badge to your site (it's on your game page, under "Are you the owner?").
Building a game with AI (ChatGPT, Claude…)?
Ask the AI to read https://idleservlist.com/llms.txt. Everything is there: how to list the game via POST /api/submit, the /api/status format and best practices to start with a high score.
curl -X POST https://idleservlist.com/api/submit -H "Content-Type: application/json" -d '{"url": "https://yourgame.com"}'
